I'm currently listening to "Songs of the Humpback Whale", the original album of whale songs from the 1970s. I remember watching an unforgettable documentary about humpback whale songs when I was a kid. Kind of nice to re-experience that.
I first found this album mentioned on the Avantgarde Music Project - a site which let you download old out of print avantgarde music recordings.... plus a few albums of interesting 'found' sounds. You can download other whale tracks from the for free, but they've had to remove the 5 tracks from the album above because they're now yet again commercially available.
