Carl barks: "Uncle Scrooge - The Seven Cities of Cibola"

With the Fourth Indiana Jones movie coming up, I think it's time to pause and remember the original source of the booby trap/boulder scene in "Raiders of the Lost Ark".

It's originally from the 1954 "Uncle Scrooge" comic book story "The Seven Cities Of Cibola", written and drawn by the legendary Carl Barks.

I found a scan of the complete story - not quite great scan quality, but the story is certainly readable.




Carl Barks is one of the great comic book legends. In the USA he's somewhat forgotten by later generations, but in Scandinavia he's considered one of the great writers of childrens literature in the 20th centure, and his stories are constantly being reprinted.

Apparently there's a new American hardcover reprint of the complete works of Barks on the way. It will be a great chance for people in the US and Uk to catch up with this legend.
