Yes, I've been quiet.
Basically I discovered that I couldn't do it. I couldn't keep my mind focused enough to keep this 1930s thing going. I'm not really a 'one-subject' kind of guy. Ah well, it was worth a try.
I sort of considered starting a new blog, and still keeping this one for 30s related postings. But... well, fuck it. I tried for an hour to come up with a new name that wasn't already taken on Blogger by someone else. No such luck... it's almost like that Borges story "The Library of Babel" - every possible letter combination for a blog adress seems to be taken by someone else, usually someone who started a blog 5 years ago, wrote two posts, and then forgot about it.
So basically I'll keep the address http://1930sblog.blogspot.com/ - and then I'll simply do a new header at some point which signals "this is another one of those messy blogs about eveything and nothing".
I'll be back soon with posts about Robert Crumb, Carl Barks, Neil Gaiman, travel posters, Richard Thompson and other diverse shit.
