First entry. YAY!

So here's the deal:

I haven't written a blog in 3 years, and i'm vaguely beginning to miss it. Doing a personal blog would probably be a bad idea, it would pretty soon detoriate into a mess of semi-depressive 'I don't have a life' crap. And I need a REAL subject, to keep me from rambling too much.... So instead of me going into early in-my-30's midlife crisis mode and feeling sorry for myself, I've decided to educate myself about that wonderful decade, the 1930's (well, wonderful when you look back at it now, not necessarily if you lived through it at the time), which I've vaguely felt for some time must be the coolest decade in the history of the world.

Be warned: I'm no expert on the 30's, ... yet. Obviously I have some recollection of reading about the Weimar republic and that Adolf guy, and about King Kong and Snow White, and listening to some early folk-music. but i'll have to rely on other Internet resources out there, and I'll hopefully get round to getting a few of them old fashioned book-thingies from the library at some point. This blog will pretty much about me discovering new cool stuff (well, new OLD cool stuff) and sharing my excitement (well, unless the decade turns out to be completely boring, in which case I'll share my bored none-excitement.), and it will be my ever growing pile of notes and web-links as I start to research.
